AI app builders
Lovable and Briks both build from plain words, but they aim at different results. Lovable is an AI software engineer for web apps: a chat produces the front end and a built-in back end with a database, sign-in and storage, the code syncs to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket on every plan, and Pro adds payments through Paddle or Stripe. Briks plans, designs, builds, checks and hosts websites, web apps and dashboards from a written brief or from a site you like, checks contrast before it publishes, and keeps every change as a version you can undo. Briks sites can also give their users accounts and take one-time payments and subscriptions through your own processor, on every plan.

Fifteen rows in six groups. Every Lovable cell links to the page it came from; where the research could not confirm something, the cell says “Not listed” rather than guess. Prices are shown only where a US dollar price could be confirmed on Lovable’s own page.

Lovable generates a full-stack app from a chat; Briks asks questions first and designs from a site you like.
Lovable describes itself as an AI software engineer that lets anyone build for the web by chatting. One prompt can produce the front end and, through its built-in Cloud back end, a database, sign-in, storage and server functions together. Lovable's docs say Cloud uses Supabase's open-source foundation, and you can connect your own Supabase project instead.
Briks starts from a written brief rather than an open chat. Before the first build it asks which pages you want and anything your brief left open, with Decide for me on every question. You can add a site you admire, plus screenshots, and Briks reads its layout, spacing, type, motion and header menu before it designs yours with your own words. Briks builds websites, web apps and dashboards, and a site that needs accounts gets email and password sign-in, with Google and seven more providers on your own keys.
With Lovable
Ask Lovable for class pages and member accounts, and it can generate the pages together with a database and sign-in from its Cloud back end.
With Briks
Give Briks the studio's brief and a site whose calm layout you like. It asks which pages you want, builds the class pages with a booking form whose entries are kept in the studio, and checks contrast before it publishes. Ask for member accounts and members sign up with email and password, or with Google once you add your own keys.
02Hosting
Both include hosting; both put your own domain on the first paid plan.
Both include hosting. Lovable publishes to a lovable.app address on every plan, Free included, and use beyond the monthly Cloud grants draws on your credits. Custom domains start on Pro, and you can buy a domain inside Lovable.
Briks publishes every site first as a preview at its own briks.live address, kept out of search, and Publish to production is a separate step with a launch check that includes links that go nowhere. Your own domain starts on Starter: add an A record, a CNAME for www and a TXT record, and the certificate is issued and renewed automatically.
With Lovable
On Lovable Pro, connect a domain or buy one in the app. On Free, the app stays on its lovable.app address.
With Briks
On Briks Starter and above, add the three records the studio shows. They are re-checked every two minutes until they are right, and www is covered once its CNAME is in place.
03Changes
Lovable: keep chatting or edit the code. Briks: plain words, versions and A/B tests.
On Lovable you keep chatting. Plan mode costs one credit a message and Default mode varies with how complex the task is. Editing code in the app and downloading it start on Pro, and Git sync lets a developer change the code in their own tools on any plan.
On Briks you type the change in plain words in the studio chat, and Briks builds and publishes it. A question about your site is answered without starting a build. Every build, change and recheck is saved as a version that anyone with edit rights can undo, redo or restore, and you can test a saved version against the live one with a split anywhere from 5 to 95 percent.
With Lovable
Ask in the Lovable chat, or edit the code yourself on Pro or through Git.
With Briks
Type the new headline in the studio chat. It becomes a version; restore the old one if you preferred it, or test the two and count form entries, phone taps and email taps.
04After launch
Lovable sells through Paddle or Stripe and monitors errors in beta; Briks sells through your own processor, counts visitors and has agents on paid plans.
Lovable has project monitoring, labelled beta and on Pro and above. It checks the project's code and recent visitor errors on a daily or weekly schedule, emails alerts and helps fix issues in the project chat; the research found no Lovable agents for marketing, sales or content. For selling, Lovable has built-in payments through Paddle or Stripe for digital products on Pro and up, and Shopify for physical goods.
Briks counts visitors, pages, sources, referrers and campaign tags without cookies on every published site, and an optional chat answers visitors from your published pages and emails you what it cannot answer. Briks agents for support, leads, search, AI search, articles, social posts and marketing come with paid plans, each asking you before it emails, changes your site or publishes a post. Briks sites take one-time payments through your own account at one of nine processors, and subscriptions through four of them, Paddle and Stripe among them, with no fee from Briks.
With Lovable
Lovable can add a checkout with Paddle or Stripe on Pro and above.
With Briks
Connect your own Paddle, Lemon Squeezy or Stripe account in Project settings and ask for the guide's page with a way to buy it. The buyer pays on the processor's own page, and the order appears in the Database tab.
05Pricing
Lovable Pro starts at $25 a month; Briks Starter is $16. The two count credits differently.
Lovable's Pro plan starts at $25 a month, or $21 a month billed yearly, for 100 credits a month, and Pro and Business come in credit tiers up to 10,000 credits. The free plan gives 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a month. One balance covers building, Cloud hosting and AI features, and Lovable prices by credits rather than seats, with unlimited workspace members.
Briks Free gives you 50 credits once, for one site on a briks.live address. Starter is $16 a month with 175 credits, 1 site and 1 domain; Pro is $29 with 400 credits, 3 sites and 3 domains; Studio is $79 and Agency $199. Paying for a year gives 2 months free, and paid plans are bought online at checkout. A new site holds 50 credits and a change 5; each job is charged for the work it took, unused credits come back, any cost beyond the hold is drawn from your balance, and a failed request is not charged.
06Ownership
Lovable's code story is stronger; Briks gives you your site's files and your records.
Lovable has the stronger code story: two-way Git sync with GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket on every plan, including Free, and code download from Pro. A developer can take the project into their own tools at any point.
Briks lets anyone with edit rights browse and edit the files written for your site, and download them as a zip. The zip holds your site's own files, not the shared parts every Briks site runs on, so it does not run on its own. On paid plans those files can also be kept in a GitHub repository, in step both ways. On a paid plan, records in your site's database download as JSON or CSV, up to 50,000 per collection. Form entries are kept in the studio but cannot be exported.
These points come from named reviewers, linked and dated, and only where more than one source agreed. They describe some people’s experience, not everyone’s. Some reviewers publish their own tools, and older reviews may predate Lovable’s current plans.
Credits run out quickly, including on loops where the AI fixes its own mistakes.
On Briks: On Briks each job is charged for the work it took, and a request that fails is not charged. A change you ask for to put something right is charged like any other change.
Security gaps in generated back ends, such as missing or weak Row Level Security policies.
On Briks: Before an app publishes, Briks reads it for keys written into files, writes with no limit, a members' table read with no session, and SQL built from strings.
An honest split. If the left-hand list describes you better, Lovable is the better choice today.
Tick what your project needs. The suggestion counts only what is known: a need Lovable’s pages did not mention never counts against it.

Moving from Lovable is a rebuild, not an import: Briks builds a new site from your brief and uses your Lovable site as a reference for its look.
Copy the words from your Lovable site that you want on the new one, and collect any pictures you own.
Add them to your Briks media library, where any project's prompt box can use them.
Describe the business and paste in the words you are keeping. Briks asks which pages you want and anything the brief leaves open.
Paste its address as your project's reference site. Briks reads its layout, spacing, type, motion and header, and builds a new site in that spirit with your words.
The first publish goes to a briks.live preview kept out of search. Ask for changes in plain words; each one is a version you can undo.
A launch check runs first, including links that go nowhere.
On Starter or above, add an A record, a CNAME for www and a TXT record. The certificate is issued and renewed automatically. Paid plans are bought online at checkout.
Lovable Pro starts at $25 a month, or $21 billed yearly, for 100 credits. Briks Starter is $16 a month, or $160 a year, for 175 credits, and Pro $29 a month for 400. The two count credits differently, so compare by what you plan to build: on Briks a new site holds 50 credits and a change 5, and each is charged for the work it took.
Yes, through your own account. Lovable has built-in payments through Paddle or Stripe on Pro and above. On Briks you connect Stripe, PayPal, Mollie, Razorpay, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, Polar, Creem or Dodo Payments in Project settings, on any plan, for one-time payments, and Stripe, Paddle, Polar or Lemon Squeezy for subscriptions that renew monthly or yearly. Briks takes no fee on your sales.
No. Lovable syncs with GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket on every plan. Briks lets you browse and edit your site's own files, and download them as a zip on a paid plan, but the zip leaves out the shared parts every Briks site runs on, so it does not run on its own. On paid plans those files can also be kept in a GitHub repository, in step both ways.
Sites that store data get their own database, which you can view and edit in the Database tab and, on a paid plan, download as JSON or CSV. A site that needs accounts also gets sign-in for its users, with email and password and providers such as Google. Lovable Cloud includes sign-in, storage and functions.
Briks checks contrast in the code before it publishes and again on the live page at desktop and phone, makes sure every chosen page is in the menu, and reads apps for keys in files, writes with no limit and SQL built from strings. Lovable offers project monitoring (beta, Pro and up) that checks code and visitor errors on a schedule after launch.
Yes, on paid plans. Briks agents reply by email to chat questions and form entries, keep pages current, work on search and AI search, write blog posts, write and plan social posts for X and LinkedIn, and report each week, asking you before anything goes out. Lovable's project monitoring is in beta on Pro and above; the research found no Lovable agents for marketing, sales or content.
Not on either. Lovable's custom domains start on Pro, and Briks's on Starter, where the certificate is issued and renewed automatically.
