Website builders with AI
Framer is a website builder for designers: you work on a canvas, its agents generate and edit pages, styles and CMS content inside the editor when you ask, and the built-in CMS, hosting, staging and redirects come with paid plans. Briks takes a written brief, or a site you like, and plans, designs, builds, checks and hosts the site for you, with changes typed in plain words. Choose Framer if you want to design by hand with AI at your elbow and a real CMS; choose Briks if you want the site designed and built for you, with no seat fees and contrast checked before it publishes.
As of 8 October 2026. Products change, so check their site before you decide.
Fifteen rows in six groups. Every Framer cell links to the page it came from; where the research could not confirm something, the cell says “Not listed” rather than guess. Prices are shown only where a US dollar price could be confirmed on Framer’s own page.

Framer agents build pages you then design; Briks plans and designs the whole site for you.
Framer's agents generate pages and sections from a prompt or a screenshot, with styles, responsive layouts, CMS structure and custom components, and everything stays editable on the canvas. It is built for people who want to keep designing after the AI's first pass.
Briks is built for people who want the first pass to be the site. It asks which pages you want and what your brief left open, reads a site you like for its layout, spacing, type, motion and header menu, and builds every page in that spirit with your own words. If you would rather choose a direction first, Pick a look shows three boards of colours, type, corners and buttons set with your hero words.
With Framer
Paste a screenshot of a layout you like into Framer, let the agent build the page, then refine spacing and type on the canvas.
With Briks
Add a portfolio site you admire as the reference and write a short brief. Briks builds the pages, checks contrast, and you ask for changes such as 'larger photos on the home page' in the chat.
02Hosting
Both host on every plan; your own domain starts on the first paid plan.
Framer hosts every plan. Basic serves from 20 CDN locations with 50 GB of bandwidth, and Pro from more than 300 locations with 100 GB. Your own domain starts on Basic, and yearly billing includes a complimentary domain. The free plan uses a Framer domain with 1 GB of bandwidth.
Briks hosts every plan too. Sites publish first to a preview at their own briks.live address, kept out of search, then to production after a launch check. Your own domain starts on Starter, with the certificate issued and renewed automatically.
03Changes
Framer edits on a canvas or through agents; Briks takes plain words and keeps versions.
On Framer you change things directly on the canvas, or ask its agents to update layout, styling, copy and CMS content, paid with AI credits. Staging and branching on paid plans let you prepare changes before they go live, and an A/B testing add-on is available.
On Briks you describe the change in the studio chat and it is built and published as a new version that anyone with edit rights can undo, redo or restore. A/B testing is part of every plan: split visitors between a saved version and the live one and count phone taps, email taps, forms sent and clicks on the main action.
With Framer
Use Framer's A/B testing add-on with funnels.
With Briks
Ask for the second headline, then test that version against the live one, from 5 to 95 percent of visitors, with no add-on.
04After launch
Framer's CMS is stronger; Briks has a site chat and, on paid plans, agents that look after the live site.
Framer's agents work inside the editor when you ask them, including SEO and analytics insights and site audits; none were found that run the site on their own after publishing, and outside agents can connect over MCP. Ecommerce comes through third-party plugins in the Framer Marketplace. Its CMS is the stronger content tool here, with collections and item limits per plan.
Briks counts visitors without cookies, offers an optional chat that answers from your published pages, keeps form entries in the studio and emails them in production, and can send email from your site under its own name from a briks address. On paid plans, Briks agents look after the live site. Briks sites take one-time payments and subscriptions through your own processor, with no fee from Briks.
05Pricing
Framer charges per site plus seats and credits; Briks charges per plan with no seat fees.
Framer prices each site on its own plan, adds monthly AI credits for agents, charges for each additional editor, and sells add-ons for pages, CMS, bandwidth, locales and A/B testing events. Its pricing page loads prices for your region, so we do not quote a figure here; see Framer's pricing page.
Briks Starter is $16 a month for 175 credits, 1 site and 1 domain; Pro is $29 for 400 credits, 3 sites and 3 domains, Studio $79 for 10, and Agency $199 for 30, with no seat fees on any plan. Free gives 50 credits once for one site. Paying for a year gives 2 months free, and paid plans are bought online at checkout.
06Ownership
Framer does not export HTML; Briks's paid plans give you a zip that does not run on its own.
Framer's help centre states it does not offer HTML export for self-hosting, so a Framer site stays on Framer hosting; some third-party marketplace plugins claim to export published sites.
Briks lets anyone with edit rights browse and edit the files written for the site, and on a paid plan download them as a zip. It is not a full export either: the zip leaves out the shared parts every Briks site runs on, so it does not run on its own. On a paid plan, database records download as JSON or CSV.
These points come from named reviewers, linked and dated, and only where more than one source agreed. They describe some people’s experience, not everyone’s. Some reviewers publish their own tools, and older reviews may predate Framer’s current plans.
Unexpected charges, especially for added editor seats, and friction cancelling or getting refunds.
On Briks: Briks has no seat fees: each plan includes its people, 3 on Pro, 10 on Studio and 25 on Agency, with Owner, Admin, Editor and Viewer roles.
AI features are inconsistent and credits drain on corrections.
No code export; sites stay on Framer hosting.
On Briks: On a paid plan, Briks lets you download your site's own files as a zip, though it leaves out the shared parts and does not run on its own.
An honest split. If the left-hand list describes you better, Framer is the better choice today.
Tick what your project needs. The suggestion counts only what is known: a need Framer’s pages did not mention never counts against it.

Framer does not export HTML, so moving to Briks means building the site again: write a brief and add your Framer site's address as a reference.
Copy the words from your Framer site that you want on the new one, and collect any pictures you own.
Add them to your Briks media library, where any project's prompt box can use them.
Describe the business and paste in the words you are keeping. Briks asks which pages you want and anything the brief leaves open.
Paste its address as your project's reference site. Briks reads its layout, spacing, type, motion and header, and builds a new site in that spirit with your words.
The first publish goes to a briks.live preview kept out of search. Ask for changes in plain words; each one is a version you can undo.
A launch check runs first, including links that go nowhere.
On Starter or above, add an A record, a CNAME for www and a TXT record. The certificate is issued and renewed automatically. Paid plans are bought online at checkout.
Yes. Framer is built around a design canvas. Briks designs the site for you from a brief or from a site you like, and you change it in plain words.
Not in the same way. Briks gives sites that store data their own database, edited in the Database tab. Framer has a built-in CMS with collections on every paid plan.
No. Briks has no seat fees: each plan includes its people, 3 on Pro, 10 on Studio and 25 on Agency, with Owner, Admin, Editor and Viewer roles. Framer charges for additional editors.
Framer does not offer HTML export. On a paid plan, Briks downloads your site's own files as a zip, which does not include the shared parts and does not run on its own.
Framer sells A/B testing with funnels as an add-on. Briks includes A/B tests between a saved version and the live site on every plan.
Briks, on paid plans: its agents work on the live site on a schedule and ask you before they act. Framer's agents work inside the editor when asked.
Framer prices per site and shows regional prices, so check Framer's pricing page for your currency. Briks Starter is $16 a month, and Pro $29.
