How it works
Published at its own address
Each site goes live at a briks.live address, kept out of search until you publish to production.
Publish to production
A launch check runs first, including links that go nowhere.
Connect your domain
Add the records the studio shows and the certificate follows on its own.
From preview to production
The first time Briks publishes your site, it goes to its own address at yourname.briks.live. That first publish is a preview: it is kept out of search engines, and entries sent through its forms are kept in the studio but not emailed, so you can try everything before customers find it.
When you are happy, choose Publish to production. The launch check runs first and stops the launch for placeholder text, made-up facts you have not confirmed, pages without a title and description, a missing page for unknown addresses, and links that lead nowhere. When it passes, the site is published listed in search, and its forms start emailing you. The check runs no AI model, so it holds no credits.
You can move a site back to preview at any time, and that takes effect at once: forms stop emailing and the site is republished out of search. Owners and Admins can also change a site's briks.live address; the old address stops working when they do.
Connecting your own domain
On a paid plan you can point your own domains at your sites: Starter includes 1 domain, Pro 3, Studio 10 and Agency 30. The Free plan publishes to its briks.live address only. Paid plans are bought online at checkout.
The studio shows three records to add where your domain is registered: an A record for the domain itself, a CNAME that points www at edge.briks.live, and a TXT record named _briks that proves the domain is yours. Briks checks them every two minutes. Most providers update within minutes; some take up to 24 hours.
Once the records are right, the certificate behind the padlock in the address bar is issued automatically and renewed automatically, with nothing for you to do or pay. Add the www record as well and visitors who type www reach the same site.
What hosting includes, and what it does not
Hosting is part of every plan. Credits pay for building and changing.
Every published site comes with analytics counted without cookies, forms that keep every entry, and versions you can restore. Sites that keep records get their own database, and a chat and email from your site are a switch away, with nightly copies on paid plans.
Two limits are worth knowing. A preview is not your launch: it stays out of search until you publish to production. And your own domain is not free: it needs a paid plan. Email from your own domain is not offered; site email sends from a briks address.
Hosting and your domain in practice

A preview the family can test
A B&B owner sends the preview address to her family so they can try the enquiry form before launch. Their test entries land in the studio but nobody is emailed, and search engines do not list the preview. When it is right, she publishes to production.

Bringing a domain it already owns
A small travel company has owned its domain for years. On the Starter plan, it adds the A, CNAME and TXT records the studio shows at its registrar. Briks checks every two minutes, finds the records, and the certificate is issued without anyone touching another setting.

Client sites on the Studio plan
A web design studio on the Studio plan publishes client sites, each on the client's own domain. The plan includes up to 10 own domains, and the hosting for every site is part of the plan.
