AI app builders
Base44 builds apps and websites from a plain-language description with a lot included on every plan: back end, database, user sign-in, analytics and storage, payments through Base44 Payments or Stripe, and after launch a Marketing Agent, Google Ads campaigns and Superagents in beta. Briks builds websites, web apps and dashboards from a written brief or from a site you like, asks what it needs first, checks contrast before it publishes and keeps every change as a version. Briks sites can also give users accounts and take one-time payments and subscriptions through your own processor. Base44 is ahead on in-app agents, app stores and marketing after launch; Briks on design from examples, pre-publish checks and hosting that never draws on credits.

Fifteen rows in six groups. Every Base44 cell links to the page it came from; where the research could not confirm something, the cell says “Not listed” rather than guess. Prices are shown only where a US dollar price could be confirmed on Base44’s own page.

Base44 generates an app with accounts and payments; Briks designs from your brief and references.
Base44 builds full apps and websites from a description: front end, back end, database and user sign-in, plus in-app AI agents and workflows, and apps can be submitted to app stores. The free plan already includes sign-in, a database and analytics, and lets you make up to five apps.
Briks puts more into the design and less into app plumbing. It asks which pages you want and anything your brief left open, reads a site you like (layout, spacing, type, motion, header), and can show you three looks to choose from first. A site that needs accounts gets email and password sign-in, and payments go through your own processor's keys.
With Base44
Base44 can generate member sign-up, a recipe database and paid memberships with Base44 Payments or Stripe.
With Briks
Briks can build the club's site, member sign-up with email and password, and a recipe database you edit in the Database tab, designed from a site you like. Memberships that renew each month or year, with an optional free trial, go through your own Stripe, Paddle, Polar or Lemon Squeezy account, and the recipes can be kept for paying members.
02Hosting
Both host on every plan; on both, your own domain starts on Starter.
Every Base44 app is live on a free base44.app address on all plans. Custom domains start on Starter, and you can buy a domain in Base44, mostly registered through Wix, or connect your own; SSL is issued automatically.
Every Briks site goes live at its own briks.live address, kept out of search until you publish to production after a launch check. Your own domain needs Starter or above; you add an A record, a CNAME for www and a TXT record, and the certificate is issued and renewed automatically.
03Changes
Base44 offers code edits from Starter; Briks keeps every change as a version.
On Base44 you keep chatting, with in-app code edits from Starter. A named reviewer reports that credits get used on AI debugging and on regressions the AI introduces into working code.
On Briks every build, change and recheck is a version. Undo, redo and restore are one click for anyone with edit rights, so a regression can be rolled back instead of argued with, and a saved version can be A/B tested against the live one. Questions about your site are answered without a build.
04After launch
Base44's Marketing Agent and Google Ads are live; Briks has its own agents on paid plans.
This is where Base44 is clearly ahead. Its Marketing Agent builds a marketing plan with channels, targets, budget and competitor research and works through the tasks; Google Ads Performance Max campaigns launch from the app dashboard; and Superagents, in beta, run scheduled or triggered workflows, monitor tools and capture leads. Payments run through Base44 Payments or Stripe, with a tab to track sales.
Briks offers analytics counted without cookies, an optional chat that answers from your pages and emails you what it cannot, form entries kept in the studio, and A/B tests. On paid plans, its agents look after the site and ask before sending email, changing the site or publishing a post. Sites take one-time payments and subscriptions through your own processor. Paid orders show in the Database tab and the site's analytics, and subscriptions in the Database tab beside them.
05Pricing
Base44 Starter is $16 a month billed yearly; Briks Starter is $16 a month.
Base44 Free gives 25 message credits and 100 integration credits a month for up to five apps. Starter is $16 a month billed yearly and adds unlimited apps, in-app code edits, a custom domain and badge removal. Usage comes from two pools: message credits for AI messages and integration credits for integration actions.
Briks Free gives 50 credits once, for one site. Starter is $16 a month, or $160 a year, with 175 credits, 1 site and 1 domain; Pro is $29 a month with 400 credits, 3 sites and 3 domains. Paid plans are bought online at checkout. Each job holds credits (50 for a new site, 5 for a change) and is charged for the work it took.
06Ownership
Base44 syncs to GitHub from Builder; Briks syncs your site's own files on paid plans.
Base44 offers two-way GitHub sync of the full source from its Builder plan and an API endpoint to download the source as a zip.
Briks lets you browse and edit your site's own files, and on a paid plan download them as a zip, without the shared parts every Briks site runs on, so the zip does not run on its own. On paid plans those files can also be kept in a GitHub repository, in step both ways. On a paid plan, database records download as JSON or CSV, up to 50,000 per collection. Form entries stay in the studio and cannot be exported.
These points come from named reviewers, linked and dated, and only where more than one source agreed. They describe some people’s experience, not everyone’s. Some reviewers publish their own tools, and older reviews may predate Base44’s current plans.
Credits are used by AI debugging and by regressions the AI introduces into working code.
On Briks: Briks keeps every change as a version you can undo or restore, and a request that fails is not charged.
Slow or unhelpful support responses.
Billing disputes, including charges reported after cancellation (reported as customer claims).
An honest split. If the left-hand list describes you better, Base44 is the better choice today.

Moving from Base44 to Briks means a new Briks project built from your brief, with your Base44 app's public pages as a reference for the look.
Copy the words from your Base44 site that you want on the new one, and collect any pictures you own.
Add them to your Briks media library, where any project's prompt box can use them.
Describe the business and paste in the words you are keeping. Briks asks which pages you want and anything the brief leaves open.
Paste its address as your project's reference site. Briks reads its layout, spacing, type, motion and header, and builds a new site in that spirit with your words.
The first publish goes to a briks.live preview kept out of search. Ask for changes in plain words; each one is a version you can undo.
A launch check runs first, including links that go nowhere.
On Starter or above, add an A record, a CNAME for www and a TXT record. The certificate is issued and renewed automatically. Paid plans are bought online at checkout.
Yes, without ads. On paid plans, Briks's Marketing agent plans each month and turns offers and events into campaigns, and its Social agent writes each week's posts for X and LinkedIn, both asking you first. They do not run ad campaigns. Base44's Marketing Agent and Google Ads campaigns are available today, and Superagents are in beta.
Yes. A Briks site that needs accounts gets email and password sign-in, and Google, Apple, Microsoft, GitHub, X, Facebook, LinkedIn and Discord switch on with your own app keys. Payments go through your own processor account, for one-time payments, and for subscriptions that renew monthly or yearly through Stripe, Paddle, Polar or Lemon Squeezy. Sign-in and payments are on every Briks plan, Free included, and both are included with Base44.
Base44 Starter is $16 a month billed yearly. Briks Starter is $16 a month, or $160 a year. Base44 counts message and integration credits; Briks holds credits per job and charges the work it took.
Its site footer reads Wix.com Ltd., and its domain registration and payments run through Wix.
Building from a site you like, questions before the first build, contrast checks in the code and on the live page, and versions with undo for every change. Base44's pages in the research do not mention these, which does not mean it lacks them.
Yes. Briks Free gives 50 credits once to build one site, with nothing to cancel elsewhere.
