AI app builders
Bolt.new turns a typed idea into a website, a full-stack web app or a mobile app, and Bolt Cloud keeps hosting, a database with sign-in, and domains in one project. It counts usage in tokens, lets you download the code or sync it to GitHub, and connects Stripe for payments. Briks builds websites, web apps and dashboards from a written brief or from a site you like, asks what it needs first, checks contrast before it publishes and keeps every change as a version. Bolt is the better pick for mobile apps and taking the code elsewhere; Briks for a designed, checked business site that you change in plain words, with sign-in, one-time payments and subscriptions through your own processor when the site needs them.

Fifteen rows in six groups. Every Bolt.new cell links to the page it came from; where the research could not confirm something, the cell says “Not listed” rather than guess. Prices are shown only where a US dollar price could be confirmed on Bolt.new’s own page.

Bolt imports from Figma, GitHub and Lovable and builds mobile apps; Briks asks first and designs from a site you like.
Bolt gives you several doors in: a prompt, a Figma import, a Google Stitch import, a GitHub repository, or a project imported from Lovable. It builds websites such as landing pages and shops, full-stack web apps, and mobile apps through its Expo integration, and you choose which agent works on each build, including Forge on open-source models.
Briks has one door, the brief, and spends its effort on understanding it. It always asks which pages you want, asks about anything left unclear unless you switch that off, and offers Decide for me. Add a site you like and Briks reads its layout, spacing, type, motion and header before designing yours; or switch on Pick a look and choose from three boards of colours, type and buttons set with your own words.
With Bolt.new
Import the Figma file into Bolt and build from it.
With Briks
Briks does not take Figma files. Add screenshots of the mock-up and the sites that inspired it, describe the café in the brief, and Briks designs the site in that spirit.
02Hosting
Bolt's Free hosting has a hard traffic limit; Briks hosts every site on every plan.
Hosting is included on every Bolt plan. Free covers 10 GB of bandwidth and 333,333 requests a month with a hard traffic limit, and paid plans include more, with pay-as-you-go beyond it. Custom domains need a paid plan; you can buy one through Bolt or connect your own, and publishing to it stops if you go back to Free.
Briks hosts every site on every plan. Each site first publishes as a preview at its own briks.live address, kept out of search, then goes to production after a launch check. On Starter and up you connect your own domain with three records, and the certificate is issued and renewed automatically.
03Changes
Bolt: keep prompting. Briks: plain words, and every change is a version.
On Bolt you keep prompting the agent you chose, and paid-plan tokens roll over for one extra month. Reviewers we cite below describe error loops on larger builds, where fixes to sign-in or the back end keep failing, and tokens spent on whole-file rewrites for small fixes.
On Briks you describe the change in plain words and it is built and published as a new version. Undo, redo and restore are open to anyone with edit rights, so a change you do not like is one click from gone, and you can run an A/B test between a saved version and the live one. Questions about your site are answered without a build.
With Bolt.new
Ask Bolt to fix it, or download the project and fix it by hand.
With Briks
Ask Briks to fix it in the chat. If the fix makes things worse, restore the version before it.
04After launch
Bolt connects Stripe; Briks connects your own processor and has agents that look after your site on paid plans.
Bolt connects Stripe for one-time payments and subscriptions, which needs a Bolt database or Supabase and user sign-in. Bolt does not advertise agents that run a site after launch; its Standard, Max and Forge agents are choices you make while building.
Briks counts visitors, pages, sources and campaign tags without cookies, can answer visitors from your published pages with an optional chat, and keeps every form entry in the studio, emailed to you once the site is in production. On paid plans, Briks agents answer enquiries, keep pages current, work on search and write blog posts, asking you first. Briks sites give visitors accounts with email and password or providers such as Google, and take one-time payments and subscriptions that renew monthly or yearly through your own processor, Stripe among them.
05Pricing
Bolt Pro is $25 a month; Briks Starter is $16.
Bolt's free plan gives 300K tokens a day and 1M a month, with a Made in Bolt badge. Pro starts at $25 a month, and a Teams plan is priced per member. Usage is counted in AI tokens, and hosting beyond the included amount is billed as you go on paid plans.
Briks gives 50 credits once on Free, for one site. Starter is $16 a month with 175 credits and Pro $29 with 400; Studio is $79 and Agency $199, with 2 months free when you pay for a year and no seat fees. Each job holds credits while it runs (50 for a new site, 5 for a change) and is charged for the work it took. Paid plans are bought online at checkout.
06Ownership
Bolt's code goes wherever you like; Briks's zip comes with paid plans and does not run on its own.
Bolt lets you export and download a local copy of the project and back it up to GitHub with automatic commit sync. If you might move the project to your own hosting later, that matters.
Briks shows you the files written for your site, lets anyone with edit rights change them, and on a paid plan downloads them as a zip. The zip leaves out the shared parts every Briks site runs on, so it needs work to run elsewhere. On paid plans those files can also be kept in a GitHub repository, in step both ways. On a paid plan your database records download as JSON or CSV; form entries stay in the studio and cannot be exported.
These points come from named reviewers, linked and dated, and only where more than one source agreed. They describe some people’s experience, not everyone’s. Some reviewers publish their own tools, and older reviews may predate Bolt.new’s current plans.
Tokens are used quickly, including on fixing errors Bolt introduced and on rewriting whole files for small fixes.
On Briks: Briks charges each job for the work it took, returns what a job does not use, and does not charge a request that fails.
Error loops and regressions on larger builds, for example sign-in and back-end fixes that keep failing.
On Briks: Every Briks build and change is a version, so a change that goes wrong can be undone or an earlier version restored.
Weak support for billing disputes and account problems.
An honest split. If the left-hand list describes you better, Bolt.new is the better choice today.

Moving from Bolt.new means building the site again on Briks from a brief, with your Bolt site as a reference for the look and feel.
Copy the words from your Bolt.new site that you want on the new one, and collect any pictures you own.
Add them to your Briks media library, where any project's prompt box can use them.
Describe the business and paste in the words you are keeping. Briks asks which pages you want and anything the brief leaves open.
Paste its address as your project's reference site. Briks reads its layout, spacing, type, motion and header, and builds a new site in that spirit with your words.
The first publish goes to a briks.live preview kept out of search. Ask for changes in plain words; each one is a version you can undo.
A launch check runs first, including links that go nowhere.
On Starter or above, add an A record, a CNAME for www and a TXT record. The certificate is issued and renewed automatically. Paid plans are bought online at checkout.
