People choose a salon on three things: what you do, what it costs and whether they can get in this week. Your website has to answer all three on a phone in a few seconds, and show the people who will do the work. Describe your salon in plain words and Briks plans the pages, writes them from your brief, builds the site and publishes it with hosting included.
Below are templates you can start from, the pages a salon site usually needs, and a brief you can use as your own starting point.
Sites built with Briks. Pick one, tell us about your business, and every page is rewritten for it before it is published.
Most people arrive on a phone, ready to book or to check a price. Tick the pages that fit your salon and the sitemap redraws. Briks asks the same question before it builds.
Change the details to your own and use it as your starting point. The pages line follows what you ticked above.
Kinsella Hair and Beauty is a salon on Gandy Street in Exeter, opened by Niamh Kinsella in 2017. Five of us work here: three stylists, a colour specialist and a beauty therapist. We do cuts, colour, balayage, blow-dries, brows, lashes and gel nails.
We are open Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm, and until 8pm on Thursdays. A cut and finish starts at £48 and a full head of colour at £95; prices depend on the stylist's level.
People should be able to book a time online with the stylist they want and pay a £20 deposit, which comes off the bill. New colour clients need a patch test 48 hours before, and we ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel.
The site should feel bright, calm and a little luxurious, with real photographs of our work and short, friendly words. Most clients find us on Instagram and book on their phones.
Pages: Home, Services and prices, Book, Our team, Our work.
Use this brief opens sign-up, then a new project with these words filled in. Change anything before you build.
Each step is something Briks does today. Follow a link for the details of each feature, including whether it needs a plan or a switch.
Write what you offer, your prices, your team, your hours and how people book. Before it builds, Briks asks which pages you want and anything your brief left open, such as whether visitors book a time online or send a request.
Questions before buildingOn every planPaste a site whose feel you like, a salon you admire or a brand you love. Briks reads its layout, spacing, type and motion and builds yours in that spirit, with your services and your words.
Build from a site you likeOn every planBriks builds every page you chose, puts each one in the menu, and checks that words are readable against their backgrounds before publishing, then on the live page at desktop and phone.
Checks before publishingOn every planAsk for online booking and Briks builds it into your site. Connect your own payment processor in Project settings and clients can pay a deposit when they book, with no fee from Briks.

Most people decide on price before anything else, and a salon with no prices online loses them to one that has them. Show a 'from' price for every service, and say what changes it, such as hair length or the stylist's level.
People book on a phone, often late in the evening. A booking button in the same place on every page, and a booking page that works with one thumb, matter more than any photograph.
Clients want to see what you did for someone like them. Real photographs of your cuts, colour and nails, taken in good light, do more than stock pictures of models. Upload them to your media library and pick them from the prompt box when you ask for a change.
Deposits, cancellations and patch tests protect your time, but a stern policy page puts people off. Say what you ask and why, in one short paragraph each.
Yes, when you ask. Briks builds online booking into your site, with the times you offer kept as records you can edit in the Database tab. Connect your own Stripe, PayPal, Mollie or Razorpay account in Project settings and clients can pay a deposit when they book, with no fee from Briks. Or keep a request form and confirm each booking yourself.
Yes. Type the change in the studio chat, such as 'A full head of colour is now £100', and Briks builds and publishes it. Every change is a version you can undo.
Yes. Ask for gift vouchers and Briks builds them into your site, paid for through your own payment account. Say in your brief which amounts you sell and how a voucher reaches the person it is for.
Add a site whose feel you like when you start, or switch on Pick a look and choose between three looks. Upload your own photographs to the media library and pick them from the prompt box when you ask for a change. The image editor makes posts and stories at Instagram's sizes in your site's colours.
