Website builders with AI

Briks vs Webflow

Webflow is the professional's visual website platform: a designer with fine control, a CMS with up to 20,000 items on Premium, separate ecommerce plans, Webflow Cloud for apps, HTML and CSS export on paid Workspace plans, and an AI site builder that outputs a reusable design system. Reviewers say it takes time to learn. Briks is the opposite trade: describe the business, or point at a site you like, and Briks plans, designs, builds, checks and hosts the site, then takes every change in plain words. Choose Webflow if you want to design and own the code; choose Briks if you want the site done without learning a design tool.

01Building

Building: a design system or a designed site

Webflow's AI drafts a site and design system you refine; Briks builds the finished site from references.

Webflow's AI site builder turns a prompt into a multi-page draft with layout, images and copy, plus a reusable design system built on its Flowkit CSS framework. Other AI features generate sections, copy, code components and CMS items. The draft is a starting point for work in the designer.

Briks asks which pages you want and what your brief left open, then designs from a site you like, reading layout, spacing, type, motion and the header menu, or from one of three looks you pick. It builds, checks contrast and publishes, so the first version is meant to be usable as it is.

Example: a design agency's own site

With Webflow

Generate a draft with Webflow's AI, then spend time in the designer on interactions and the CMS for case studies.

With Briks

Point Briks at an agency site you admire and describe your work. It builds the site in its spirit, and the case-study records live in the site's database.

02Hosting

Hosting, domains and apps

Webflow hosts per site plan and adds Webflow Cloud; Briks hosts every site on every plan.

Webflow hosts every site plan, including the free Starter on a webflow.io address. A custom domain needs a paid site plan, from Basic, and Webflow Cloud adds app hosting with SQLite, key-value and object storage, with metered overages.

Briks hosts every site on every plan. A first publish goes to a preview at its own briks.live address, kept out of search, and Publish to production follows a launch check. Sites that store data get their own database. Your own domain starts on Starter, with the certificate managed for you.

03Changes

Making changes

Webflow: change it yourself in the designer. Briks: ask, and every change is a version.

In Webflow you make changes in the visual designer, or ask its AI to generate sections and copy. Two reviewers, one in 2026 and one in 2023, describe a steep learning curve compared with simpler builders.

In Briks you write what you want changed in the studio chat, and it is built and published. Each change is a version that anyone with edit rights can undo, redo or restore, and a saved version can be A/B tested against the live site. Developers can still open and edit the site's files.

04After launch

After launch

Webflow's AEO agents are on its top plans; Briks agents are on every paid plan, from Starter.

Webflow's AEO agents recommend and ship site-wide fixes and content, with review before publishing, and are listed for the Team platform plan, at $2,500 a month on an annual contract, and Enterprise. A Webflow MCP server lets outside AI tools manage sites. Ecommerce comes through separate site plans, from Standard at $29 a month billed yearly with a 2% transaction fee.

Briks counts visitors without cookies on every published site, offers an optional chat that answers from your pages, keeps form entries in the studio and emails them in production, and runs A/B tests on every plan. Briks agents come with paid plans, and sites take one-time payments and subscriptions through your own processor.

05Pricing

Pricing

Webflow Basic is $25 a month per site; Briks Pro is $29 a month for three sites.

Webflow's Basic site plan is $25 a month, or $15 a month billed yearly, for one site, and it has no CMS. The CMS starts on Premium. Workspace plans, which carry code export, are billed separately, AI uses credits, and Webflow Cloud overages are metered. The free Starter plan has 2 static pages, 50 CMS items and 1 GB of bandwidth.

Briks Starter is $16 a month for 1 site and 1 domain with 175 credits; Pro is $29 and covers 3 sites and 3 domains with 400 credits; Studio is $79 for 10 sites and Agency $199 for 30. Free gives 50 credits once for one site. There are no seat fees, paying for a year gives 2 months free, and paid plans are bought online at checkout.

06Ownership

Code ownership

Webflow's export is the real thing; Briks's zip, on paid plans, is not a standalone site.

Webflow exports HTML and CSS on paid Workspace plans, which is a genuine way to host elsewhere, with two limits: CMS items and pages cannot be exported as code, and forms stop working after export.

Briks lets you browse and edit your site's own files, and on a paid plan download them as a zip, but the zip leaves out the shared parts every Briks site runs on, so it does not run on its own. On a paid plan, database records download as JSON or CSV too.

What reviewers raise about Webflow

These points come from named reviewers, linked and dated, and only where more than one source agreed. They describe some people’s experience, not everyone’s. Some reviewers publish their own tools, and older reviews may predate Webflow’s current plans.

Where Webflow is strong

  • Clean HTML and CSS export on paid Workspace plans. Source
  • Webflow Cloud adds app hosting with SQLite, key-value and object storage alongside the site. Source
  • The AI site builder outputs a reusable design system (Flowkit), not just a page. Source

Who should choose which

An honest split. If the left-hand list describes you better, Webflow is the better choice today.

Choose Webflow if

  • You or your team want to design visually with fine control.
  • You need HTML and CSS you can host elsewhere.
  • You need a large CMS or a dedicated ecommerce plan.
  • You are an enterprise team that wants AEO agents.
Visit Webflow

Choose Briks if

  • You want the site designed and built for you, without learning a design tool.
  • You run several sites and want one plan for three, ten or thirty of them.
  • You want plain-word changes, versions and A/B tests on every plan.
  • You want contrast checked before the site publishes.

Moving from Webflow to Briks

You can keep Webflow's export as a backup, but moving to Briks means a new build from your brief, with your Webflow site as a reference for its look.

  1. Gather what you want to keep

Copy the words from your Webflow site that you want on the new one, and collect any pictures you own.

  2. Upload your pictures

Add them to your Briks media library, where any project's prompt box can use them.

  3. Start a new project with a brief

Describe the business and paste in the words you are keeping. Briks asks which pages you want and anything the brief leaves open.

  4. Add your Webflow site as a reference

Paste its address as your project's reference site. Briks reads its layout, spacing, type, motion and header, and builds a new site in that spirit with your words.

  5. Check the preview

The first publish goes to a briks.live preview kept out of search. Ask for changes in plain words; each one is a version you can undo.

  6. Publish to production

A launch check runs first, including links that go nowhere.

  7. Connect your domain on a paid plan

On Starter or above, add an A record, a CNAME for www and a TXT record. The certificate is issued and renewed automatically. Paid plans are bought online at checkout.

Good to know

  • Webflow ecommerce does not carry over; on Briks, payments go through your own processor, and shipping is built into the site when you ask.
  • CMS content can be pasted into the brief or added after the build in plain words.

Common questions

Is Briks easier than Webflow?

For most people, yes: there is no designer to learn, and you describe changes in plain words. Webflow gives far more hands-on control in exchange for a steeper learning curve.

Can I export code from Briks like from Webflow?

Not in the same way. Webflow exports HTML and CSS on paid Workspace plans. On a paid plan, Briks downloads your site's own files as a zip, which does not run on its own.

Does Briks have a CMS like Webflow?

Briks gives data-backed sites their own database, edited in the Database tab and, on a paid plan, downloadable as JSON or CSV. Webflow's CMS is a fuller content tool, from the Premium site plan.

Which costs less for several sites?

Webflow prices each site separately: Basic is $25 a month, or $15 billed yearly. Briks Pro is $29 a month for three sites, and Studio $79 for ten.

Does either have agents after launch?

Webflow's AEO agents are on its Team plan and Enterprise. Briks agents are on every paid plan, from Starter.

Can Briks build animations like Webflow?

Briks reads the motion of the site you give it as a reference and builds in that spirit. Webflow's designer gives you direct control over interactions.
