Website builders with AI

Briks vs Durable

Durable is built for small service businesses that want to be online fast: three questions and about 30 seconds later there is a website, and around it a CRM, bookings, invoicing with Stripe, AI blog posts and agents that collect reviews and reply to leads. Briks takes longer and goes deeper on the site itself: it asks which pages you want and what is unclear, designs from a site you like, checks contrast before it publishes, and takes every change in plain words as a version you can undo. Pick Durable for speed and business tools; pick Briks when the design and the site have to be right.

As of 8 October 2026. Products change, so check their site before you decide.

01Building

Building: fast, or considered

Durable makes a site from three answers; Briks plans and designs from your brief and references.

Durable asks three questions about your business and generates a full website with industry-specific copy, images and layout in about 30 seconds, which you then adjust in a drag-and-drop editor. For a service business that needs a presence today, that speed is the point.

Briks spends more time before it builds. It always asks which pages you want, asks about anything your brief left open unless you switch that off, and can design from a site you like, reading its layout, spacing, type, motion and header menu. Then it builds, checks contrast in the code and publishes.

Example: a dog groomer

With Durable

Answer three questions and have a site in about 30 seconds, with bookings and a CRM for clients.

With Briks

Write a short brief and add a pet-care site you like. Briks asks which pages you want, builds the site with an enquiry form, and keeps every entry in the studio.

02Hosting

Hosting and going live

Durable's free site is a private preview; a Briks free site is published.

Durable includes secure hosting and unlimited traffic, but on Free the site is only a private preview on durable.site; publishing to your own domain starts on Launch, where you can connect a domain or register one free up to a set value.

Briks publishes every site, Free included, first as a preview at its own briks.live address that is live but kept out of search, then to production after a launch check. Your own domain starts on Starter, with no free domain included; the certificate is issued and renewed automatically.

03Changes

Changing the design

Reviewers find Durable's customisation limited; Briks changes anything you describe.

Durable's editor is drag and drop. Two named reviewers, writing in 2024 and 2025 before Durable's current plans, found its design customisation limited and less suited to complex websites.

With Briks you describe a change in plain words, from 'a bolder header' to a new page, or, on paid plans, make it on the page itself in the Visual Editor, and it is built, published and saved as a version you can undo, redo or restore. Saved versions can be A/B tested against the live site, counting calls, emails and forms sent.

Example: make the site feel more premium

With Durable

Adjust fonts, colours and sections in the drag-and-drop editor.

With Briks

Describe the feel you want in plain words. If you prefer the old version, restore it.

04After launch

After launch: Durable does more today

Durable's CRM, bookings and agents are live; Briks has agents on paid plans, but no CRM or bookings.

Durable's Launch plan lists agents working on autopilot that publish blog posts, collect more reviews, research competitors and answer business questions, plus lead replies, Google review replies and AI chat replies on paid plans. Its CRM tracks leads and customers, its bookings system takes appointments, and Stripe payments work on invoices and paid bookings. Durable says it is not designed specifically for ecommerce.

Briks keeps every form entry in the studio, emails it in production, and can pass it to another tool by webhook. It counts visitors without cookies and can answer visitors from your published pages with an optional chat. On paid plans, Briks agents include Support, Leads and Articles. Briks sites take one-time payments and subscriptions through your own processor.

05Pricing

Pricing

Durable's page shows no currency code; Briks Starter is $16 a month.

Durable has three plans, Free, Launch and Grow, each a flat plan plus AI credits: 300 in total on Free, 1,000 a month on Launch and 5,000 on Grow. Its pricing page shows amounts without a currency code, so we do not quote them; see Durable's pricing page.

Briks Free gives 50 credits once and a published site on a briks.live address. Starter is $16 a month for 175 credits, 1 site and 1 domain; Pro is $29 for 400 credits, 3 sites and 3 domains; Studio is $79 and Agency $199. Each job holds credits while it runs and is charged for the work it took. Paying for a year gives 2 months free; paid plans are bought online at checkout.

06Ownership

Ownership

Briks gives you your records and your site's files.

Durable's help centre, searched for export, returned customer CSV export and design downloads; the research found no site or code export documented, so we leave that unknown. Durable says it does not offer extensive HTML customisation, though custom code embeds are supported.

Briks lets you browse and edit your site's own files, and on a paid plan download them as a zip; it does not run on its own because the shared parts are not included. On a paid plan, records in your site's database download as JSON or CSV, up to 50,000 per collection. Form entries cannot be exported.

What reviewers raise about Durable

These points come from named reviewers, linked and dated, and only where more than one source agreed. They describe some people’s experience, not everyone’s. Some reviewers publish their own tools, and older reviews may predate Durable’s current plans.

Moving from Durable to Briks

Moving from Durable means rebuilding on Briks from a brief, with your Durable site as a reference, and moving your domain once the new site is in production.

  1. Gather what you want to keep

Copy the words from your Durable site that you want on the new one, and collect any pictures you own.

  2. Upload your pictures

Add them to your Briks media library, where any project's prompt box can use them.

  3. Start a new project with a brief

Describe the business and paste in the words you are keeping. Briks asks which pages you want and anything the brief leaves open.

  4. Add your Durable site as a reference

Paste its address as your project's reference site. Briks reads its layout, spacing, type, motion and header, and builds a new site in that spirit with your words.

  5. Check the preview

The first publish goes to a briks.live preview kept out of search. Ask for changes in plain words; each one is a version you can undo.

  6. Publish to production

A launch check runs first, including links that go nowhere.

  7. Connect your domain on a paid plan

On Starter or above, add an A record, a CNAME for www and a TXT record. The certificate is issued and renewed automatically. Paid plans are bought online at checkout.

Good to know

  • Durable's CRM, bookings and invoices have no equivalent you can move into on Briks today; keep them on Durable or another tool if you rely on them.
  • Briks form entries can be sent to another tool with the form.received webhook.

Common questions

Which is faster, Durable or Briks?

Durable: three questions and about 30 seconds. Briks asks more questions and takes longer, because it plans the pages and designs from your brief or from a site you like.

Does Briks have a CRM and bookings like Durable?

Briks keeps form entries in the studio, emails them in production and gives data-backed sites their own database. Durable's built-in CRM, bookings and invoices go further for a service business.

Does Briks have agents like Durable?

Yes, on paid plans. Briks agents write blog posts, reply to leads and answer chat questions by email, asking you first; they do not collect reviews. Durable's Launch plan lists agents that post blogs, collect reviews and reply to leads.

Is the free plan a real website?

On Briks, yes: Free publishes one site to a briks.live address, with 50 credits once. Durable's Free plan is a private preview on durable.site.

Can I take payments?

Durable takes Stripe payments on invoices and paid bookings. Briks sites take one-time payments and subscriptions through your own processor, such as Stripe, on every plan.

Which gives me more control over the design?

Briks: it designs from a site you choose and changes anything you describe. Reviewers found Durable's customisation limited, though their reviews predate its current plans.
