Website builders with AI
Framer is loved by designers for its canvas, its CMS and how its agents keep everything editable. People look for alternatives when the team grows and seat charges add up, when they want the code, or when nobody on the team wants to design on a canvas at all.
Here are five alternatives, from another designer's tool to builders that design the site for you.

A named reviewer reports unexpected charges, especially for added editor seats, and friction when cancelling; the same reviewer finds the AI features inconsistent, with credits used on corrections. Framer's own help centre confirms there is no HTML export for self-hosting, which matters to anyone who may want to leave later.
Unexpected charges, especially for added editor seats, and friction cancelling or getting refunds.
AI features are inconsistent and credits drain on corrections.
No code export; sites stay on Framer hosting.
We ordered these by how well each keeps Framer's strengths (design quality, a CMS, hosting) while answering one of the concerns above: seat charges, export or the need to design by hand. Briks is our product and sits second.
Every fact about another product links to its own page, opened on 8 October 2026. Where something could not be confirmed it reads “Not listed”, and prices appear only where a US dollar price was confirmed on the product’s own page.

Webflow is the closest designer's tool, and it answers the export question: HTML and CSS export on paid Workspace plans, although CMS pages cannot be exported as code. Its AI site builder outputs a reusable design system on Webflow's Flowkit framework, and its CMS holds 20,000 items on the Premium site plan. Reviewers say it has a steep learning curve.
Best for: Designers who want visual control and code export.
AI website and app builder
Briks suits teams where nobody wants to design on a canvas. It reads a site you like and designs from it, checks contrast before publishing, takes changes in plain words, and has no seat fees. Its content lives in a database you edit in the Database tab rather than a full CMS, and its code zip, on paid plans, does not run on its own.
Best for: Teams who want a designed site without a design tool.
Website builder with AI
Wix builds a full site from a prompt, then lets you edit with its Aria assistant or by drag and drop, with CMS collections, a blog, and ecommerce from its Core plan. Its agents go further than Framer's after launch: Aria, Kleo for marketing and Alfred for phone calls, with actions sent to you for approval.
Best for: Businesses that want tools and agents after launch.
Website builder with AI
Squarespace's Blueprint AI makes a multi-page starting site that you refine in its editor, and every plan can sell, with unlimited products and bandwidth. Reviewers find its design freedom more limited than other builders, so it suits people who want polish over control.
Best for: Polished sites with selling built in.
Website builder with AI
WordPress.com pairs an AI builder (on paid plans) with WordPress itself: posts and pages, 60,000+ plugins from the Personal plan, and content export in a standard WordPress format on every plan. The WordPress Agent edits pages and copy when you ask.
Best for: Content-heavy sites that want plugins and portability.
Framer first, for reference, then the alternatives in the order above. “Not listed” means the pages we checked did not say, not that the product lacks it.
Webflow: a visual designer with a CMS, an AI site builder that makes a design system, and HTML and CSS export on paid Workspace plans.
Webflow exports HTML and CSS on paid Workspace plans, and WordPress.com exports content on every plan with full backups on Business and up. On a paid plan, Briks downloads your site's own files, which do not run on their own.
Briks has no seat fees on any plan: each plan includes its people, from 3 on Pro to 25 on Agency. The research did not record seat pricing for the other alternatives here.
Webflow (Premium site plan), Wix (CMS collections), Squarespace (blog) and WordPress.com (posts and pages). Briks keeps records in a database you edit in the Database tab.
Briks designs from your brief or from a site you like. Wix and Squarespace also generate a starting site from a prompt, which you then edit in their editors.
Wix has Aria, Kleo and Alfred, with actions sent for approval. WordPress.com's agent works when asked. Briks has agents on paid plans, which ask before they act.
