Website builders with AI
Wix does a lot: AI site creation, a huge template library, a store, bookings and AI agents after launch. People look elsewhere mostly because of two things reviewers keep raising, the template you cannot swap and the price, or because they want something simpler or more portable.
Here are six alternatives, from all-in-one rivals to tools that design the site for you or let you take it with you.
As of 8 October 2026. Products change, so check their site before you decide.
Mike Williams at TechRadar and Emma Ryan at Website Builder Expert both note that a Wix template cannot be changed once chosen, and both say its plans cost more than other builders. Wix also states sites cannot be hosted elsewhere, so portability matters to some people from the start.

We ordered these by how well each covers what Wix users rely on (AI site creation, hosting, selling) while answering the template and price concerns. Briks is our product and comes third: it answers the template concern directly, and builds shipping into a site when you ask rather than offering a ready-made store.
Every fact about another product links to its own page, opened on 8 October 2026. Where something could not be confirmed it reads “Not listed”, and prices appear only where a US dollar price was confirmed on the product’s own page.
Website builder with AI
Squarespace is the most direct all-in-one rival: Blueprint AI makes a multi-page starting site, every plan can sell with unlimited products, invoicing is free, and bandwidth and storage are unlimited. Reviewers find its design freedom limited and its price high, so it answers the template concern only partly.
Best for: Polished sites that sell, with less to configure.
AI website builder
Hostinger answers the price concern most directly: Premium is $2.99 a month on a 48-month term paid upfront, renewing at $10.99 a month, with hosting, a domain for a year and email included. Its AI Builder makes a site from one prompt, and ecommerce and Hostinger Agent arrive on Unlimited.
Best for: The lowest upfront cost, bundled with a domain.
AI website and app builder
Briks answers the template concern by not having templates you are locked into: it designs from your brief or a site you like, and you change the look later in plain words, with every change a version you can undo. It checks contrast before publishing and hosts the site, with your own domain from Starter. Its sites take one-time payments and subscriptions through your own processor, with shipping built when you ask; its agents come with paid plans.
Best for: A designed site you can reshape later without starting over.
Website builder with AI
WordPress.com is the portable choice: content exports in a standard WordPress format on every plan, plugins install from Personal at $4 a month billed yearly, and payment buttons arrive on Premium. Its AI builder needs a paid plan, and reviewers say customising can be hard for beginners.
Best for: Owners who want plugins and a way out.
AI website builder
Durable makes a site from three questions in about 30 seconds and adds a CRM, bookings, invoicing with Stripe and agents that publish blog posts and reply to reviews and leads. It is built for small service businesses; reviewers find its customisation and integrations limited.
Best for: Service businesses that want a site and CRM fast.
Website builder with AI
Webflow trades ease for control: a visual designer, a CMS, HTML and CSS export on paid Workspace plans, and an AI builder that outputs a design system. Reviewers call its learning curve steep, so it suits people who want to design rather than avoid design.
Best for: Designers who outgrew Wix's editor.
Wix first, for reference, then the alternatives in the order above. “Not listed” means the pages we checked did not say, not that the product lacks it.
It depends on why you are leaving. For an all-in-one rival, Squarespace; for the lowest upfront cost, Hostinger; for a designed site you can reshape in plain words, Briks; for portability, WordPress.com.
Hostinger's Premium plan is $2.99 a month on a 48-month term paid upfront, renewing at $10.99. WordPress.com Personal is $4 a month billed yearly. Wix's own prices vary by region, so compare in your currency.
Briks: ask for a different look in plain words and it is built as a new version. Webflow and WordPress.com also let you rework the design, with more hands-on work.
Webflow can, with HTML and CSS export on paid Workspace plans (CMS pages excepted). WordPress.com and Squarespace export content, in full or in part, as WordPress XML. On a paid plan, Briks lets you download your site's own files, but they need the shared parts to run.
Durable's agents publish blog posts and reply to reviews and leads, and Hostinger Agent is included on Unlimited and up. Webflow's AEO agents are on its Team and Enterprise plans. Briks has agents on paid plans.
Squarespace (every plan), Hostinger (Unlimited and up), WordPress.com (payment buttons from Premium, WooCommerce on paid plans) and Webflow (separate ecommerce plans). Durable takes payments on invoices and bookings. Briks sites take one-time payments and subscriptions through your own processor, and Briks builds shipping into a site when you ask.
