Website builders with AI
WordPress.com gives you WordPress without running a server: posts and pages, plugins, a low entry price and content you can take anywhere. People look elsewhere when they do not want to learn WordPress, or when they want an AI builder on a free plan.
These five alternatives range from close relatives to tools that build the whole site for you.

Named reviewers agree that customising pages is hard for beginners: Kamso Oguejiofor at Website Planet describes a steep learning curve for beginners in 2026, and Mike Williams at TechRadar said customising can be difficult in a 2021 review. WordPress.com's AI builder also needs a paid plan.

We ordered these by how much easier each makes building and changing a site compared with WordPress, while keeping hosting and a way to grow. Briks is our product and comes fourth: easiest to change, but with no store that ships goods.
Every fact about another product links to its own page, opened on 8 October 2026. Where something could not be confirmed it reads “Not listed”, and prices appear only where a US dollar price was confirmed on the product’s own page.
Website builder with AI
Wix builds a whole site from a conversation, free to start, and edits with Aria or drag and drop. Its CMS and blog cover content sites, payments start on Core, and Aria, Kleo and Alfred help after launch. Unlike WordPress.com, Wix sites cannot be moved to another host.
Best for: An easier editor with business tools built in.
Website builder with AI
Squarespace has blog pages, selling on every plan, and Blueprint AI for a starting site, all inside a polished editor. Its export covers some content in WordPress XML, which makes a later move back to WordPress partly possible.
Best for: Polished sites with a blog and a shop.
Website builder with AI
Webflow suits people who outgrew WordPress themes and want visual control: a designer, a CMS from Premium, and HTML and CSS export on paid Workspace plans. It is not easier than WordPress; reviewers call its learning curve steep.
Best for: Design control without themes.
AI website and app builder
Briks is the furthest from WordPress's way of working: no theme and no plugin. You describe the site, or point at a site you like, and Briks designs, builds, checks and hosts it, with the AI builder on the free plan. Every change is a sentence and a version you can undo. It takes one-time payments and subscriptions through your own processor; on paid plans, its Articles agent writes posts for the site's blog.
Best for: Owners who want the site, not a CMS to run.
AI website builder
Hostinger's AI Builder makes a site from one prompt in Manual mode, with a blog and hosting, a domain and email bundled. Premium is $2.99 a month on a 48-month term paid upfront, renewing at $10.99 a month, and Agentic projects export as code.
Best for: A low upfront price with a domain and email.
WordPress.com first, for reference, then the alternatives in the order above. “Not listed” means the pages we checked did not say, not that the product lacks it.
Briks, if you would rather describe the site and its changes than learn an editor; the Visual Editor, on paid plans, is there for quick changes on the page itself. Wix is the easiest if you want a drag-and-drop editor.
Wix lets you start with AI for free, and Briks's AI builder works on its Free plan. WordPress.com's AI builder needs a paid plan.
Squarespace and Wix both have blogs, and Hostinger includes a blog on every plan. On Briks paid plans, the Articles agent writes posts for your site's blog.
Squarespace exports some content as WordPress XML, and Webflow exports HTML and CSS on paid Workspace plans. Wix does not export to other hosts. Briks downloads database records as JSON or CSV on paid plans.
Hostinger Premium is $2.99 a month on a 48-month term paid upfront, renewing at $10.99. WordPress.com itself is $4 a month billed yearly on Personal.
Yes. Each of these connects your own domain on a paid plan: Wix from Light, Squarespace from Basic, Webflow from Basic, Hostinger from Premium and Briks from Starter.
