Your own site is the hardest one to finish. Client work always comes first, and the studio site stays half done for years. Describe your studio, the work you take on and how you price it, and Briks plans the pages, builds them and publishes the site, so you can get back to client work.
Below are templates you can start from, the pages a studio site usually needs, and a brief to rework with your own details.
The opening line of the brief behind Design Studio, a website template by the Briks teamHalden Studio is an independent design studio in Bristol, England, founded in 2016 by Mara Halden.
A studio site is a portfolio and a sales tool at once. Tick the pages that fit yours and the sitemap redraws. Briks asks the same question before it builds.
Change the details to your own and use it as your starting point. The pages line follows what you ticked above.
Fieldwork is a two-person web design studio in Glasgow, run by Ewan and Priya since 2019. We design and build websites for independent shops, restaurants and architects in Scotland, usually six to ten pages, launched in four to eight weeks.
We also look after sites after launch on a monthly plan: small changes, updates and a check-in call each month. Projects start at £4,500 and the care plan is £150 a month.
Our best work: a new site for a Glasgow architecture practice, an online menu and booking enquiries for a seafood restaurant in Oban, and a site for a knitwear maker on Skye.
The site should feel confident and quiet, with big project images, short words and one clear way to start: a form that asks for budget, timing and the current website.
Pages: Home, Work, Services, Process, About, Contact.
Use this brief opens sign-up, then a new project with these words filled in. Change anything before you build.
Each step is something Briks does today. Follow a link for the details of each feature, including whether it needs a plan or a switch.
You know which sites you wish you had designed. Add the one you admire most, with screenshots, and Briks reads its layout, spacing, type, motion and header menu, then builds your studio's site in that spirit.
Build from a site you likeOn every planBefore building, Briks asks which pages you want and anything your brief left open, such as whether pricing gets its own page. Decide for me is there when you would rather not choose.
Questions before buildingOn every planContrast is checked in the code before publishing. For a studio site, switch on the fuller check at four widths too, which looks at layout, overlap and links.
Checks before publishingOn every planBrowse every file written for your site, edit it by hand with edit rights, and on a paid plan download a published version as a zip. The zip holds your site's own files, not the shared parts every Briks site runs on.
Your site's codeOn every planContact form entries are kept in the studio and emailed to you in production, and a webhook can send each new one to the tool where you track leads.
Forms that keep every entryOn every planTest a saved version of the home page against the live one, split from 5 to 95 percent. A form sent, a tap on your phone or email, or a click on the main action counts as a conversion.
A/B testingOn every planEvery change is a version. Try a bolder home page, and restore the old one if it does not work.
Versions and undoOn every planAn honest list, checked against what Briks does on 8 October 2026. Where Briks does not cover something, the usual way around it is in the same row.

A gallery of good-looking screens tells a client you can design. A short story about what was wrong, what you changed and what happened next tells them you can help. Lead each project with the problem.
If you do not do logos, shops or apps, say so on the services page. Clear edges bring better enquiries and fewer awkward first calls.
Budget, timing and the current site are three questions most clients can answer in a minute. They let you reply with something useful instead of a meeting request.
Nothing undermines a web studio like a portfolio that stops two years ago. When changes are a sentence, adding a project the week it launches is realistic.
Yes. You can browse every file written for your site, edit it by hand if you have edit rights, and on a paid plan download any published version as a zip. The zip does not include the shared parts every Briks site runs on, so it needs work to run elsewhere. On paid plans those files can also be kept in a GitHub repository, in step both ways.
Yes. Add a site you admire, with screenshots if you like. Briks reads its layout, spacing, type and motion and builds yours in that spirit, with your words and your work.
Yes. Keep up to 10 workspaces, one per client, invite clients with roles from Pro, and hand a workspace over on any plan by making the client an Owner.
Yes. Test a saved version against the live one, split from 5 to 95 percent. A form sent, a tap on your phone or email, or a click on the main action counts as a conversion, once per visitor.
