Best AI website builders for small business in 2026

Ten AI website builders for a small business, compared on price, domain, what the AI does and one limit each.

There is no single best AI website builder for every small business; it depends on what you sell and how much of the work you want to do yourself. The short answer:

  • One product for the site, a shop, bookings and marketing: Wix.
  • A polished, design-led site that can sell from the first plan: Squarespace.
  • The lowest monthly price, if you can pay for four years at once: Hostinger Website Builder.
  • A site or simple web app from a conversation, with payments and bookings: GoDaddy Airo.
  • An online shop that ships physical products: Shopify.
  • A blog or content site that may grow into WordPress plugins: WordPress.com.
  • A local service business that wants a site in a minute, plus a CRM and bookings: Durable.
  • A designer, or someone working with one, who wants a design canvas: Framer or Webflow.
  • A site planned, built, checked and published from a description, with AI agents after launch: Briks.

Briks is our product, so read its section with that in mind. The tools are not ranked: Wix comes first because it covers the most of what a typical small business asks for in one product, and Briks comes last because it is ours.

How we checked

On 21 October 2026 we opened each vendor's pricing page and its AI builder page; every one is listed under Sources. Prices are in US dollars as shown to a visitor in the United States; several vendors price by country, so yours may differ. Where a page showed no reliable figure, we left it out.

Wix

Wix is a hosted website builder with an AI builder, a drag-and-drop editor and more than 2,000 templates. A shop, scheduling, a blog and marketing tools sit in the same product.

  • Who it suits: owners who want one product for the site, bookings, a small shop and marketing, and like to adjust details by hand.
  • What the AI does: you describe the site and Wix builds it; you refine it by drag and drop or by asking Aria, its built-in AI agent. An AI marketing agent helps promote the business.
  • Price and domain: a free plan includes hosting; Light, the first paid plan, adds your own domain and removes the Wix branding. Wix prices vary by location, and we could not read a reliable US figure from its plans page, so none is quoted.
  • One limitation: Light does not list taking payments; that starts on Core.

Squarespace

Squarespace is a hosted website builder with templates, a drag-and-drop editor and selling on every plan. Its AI builder, Blueprint AI, turns a description of your business into a multi-page starting site.

  • Who it suits: owners who care most about a polished look and want to sell products, services or memberships from the start.
  • What the AI does: Blueprint AI creates the pages, copy, imagery, colours and fonts, and an assistant in the editor can add custom sections.
  • Price and domain: Basic is $19 a month billed yearly, or $25 monthly. Any plan can use your own domain, and yearly plans include one free for the first year. There is no free plan, only a 14-day trial with no card needed.
  • One limitation: publishing needs a paid plan, and Basic takes a 2% fee on online store sales (0% from Core).

Hostinger Website Builder

Hostinger is a web host with an AI website builder: you describe your idea and it builds the site, with hosting, a domain and email in one bill. You can also start from an existing site's address or from a PDF.

  • Who it suits: owners on a tight budget who are happy to pay for several years upfront.
  • What the AI does: it builds the site from your description, and an AI assistant helps you build or manage a store. Premium includes a one-time gift of 250 AI credits.
  • Price and domain: Premium is $2.49 a month on a 48-month term, paid upfront as $119.52, and renews at $10.99 a month. It includes up to 3 websites and a custom domain free for the first year.
  • One limitation: the low price depends on the long term and rises at renewal, and the plans page lists ecommerce only from the Unlimited plan up.

GoDaddy Airo

GoDaddy's website builder is now Airo AI Builder. From a few prompts it builds a website or a web app, with sign-in, payments and hosting.

  • Who it suits: service businesses and small shops that want payments, deposits and bookings, or a simple web app later.
  • What the AI does: describe your idea in any language and Airo lays out the pages, sections, starter copy and images. On paid plans, editing text and images yourself uses no credits.
  • Price and domain: the free plan has 50 AI credits a month. Starter is $9.99 a month billed yearly, shown with a first-year discount, and every paid plan includes a free domain. Payments, bookings and a product catalogue are listed on Professional, at $24.99 a month billed yearly.
  • One limitation: removing the Airo branding is listed as coming soon, and unused credits expire at the end of each billing cycle.

Shopify

Shopify is a commerce platform first: a store with inventory, shipping discounts, and selling online, in person and in AI chats. Sidekick, its AI assistant, is included with every plan.

  • Who it suits: anyone whose main job online is selling products, especially goods that are posted to customers.
  • What the AI does: Sidekick can turn your store idea into a design, edit product photos, write product copy and help you set up to sell.
  • Price and domain: Basic is $29 a month billed yearly, or $39 monthly, with your own domain included. You can try it free for 3 days, and most plans then cost $1 a month for the first 3 months.
  • One limitation: for a simple brochure site you are paying for a store, and taking payments through a provider other than Shopify's own adds a 2% fee on Basic.

WordPress.com

WordPress.com is the hosted, managed version of WordPress. Its AI builder is the WordPress Agent: describe the site and it generates pages, layouts, images and copy as a theme of your own.

  • Who it suits: writers, consultants and anyone whose site is mostly articles, or who wants WordPress plugins later; every paid plan can install them.
  • What the AI does: after launch the agent stays in the editor to rewrite copy and make images, and can update a page or draft a post from a Telegram chat, a Slack message or a forwarded email.
  • Price and domain: Personal is $4 a month billed yearly for the first year, renewing at $5, or $9 monthly, and includes a domain free for the first year. Free sites show WordPress.com ads to visitors.
  • One limitation: the guided AI builder has usage limits on Personal.

Durable

Durable builds a whole site from three questions about your business, in about 30 seconds by its own account, and adds a CRM, bookings and AI agents for the work after launch.

  • Who it suits: local service businesses that want leads, bookings and reviews in one place.
  • What the AI does: it writes and lays out the site, which you edit with drag and drop. On paid plans, AI agents publish blog posts, collect reviews, research competitors, reply to leads and answer business questions.
  • Price and domain: Launch is $22 a month billed yearly, or $25 monthly, with 1,000 AI credits a month. It connects your own domain or registers one free, up to a $20 value. The free plan is a private preview on a durable.site address.
  • One limitation: Durable says it is not designed specifically for online shops, and it does not offer extensive HTML customisation.

Framer

Framer is a website builder for designers and teams, built around a design canvas. Its AI agent creates editable pages, sections, copy and visuals, and can review a site for contrast, typos, missing alt text and search gaps.

  • Who it suits: designers, studios and startups that want full control of layout and type, and are at home on a canvas.
  • What the AI does: you describe a page or a change and keep refining in the chat, or take over on the canvas at any point.
  • Price and domain: Basic is $10 a month on yearly billing, with 1,000 AI credits a month, and connecting your own domain needs a paid plan. The free plan gives 500 credits to try the agents, and Framer describes it as ideal for non-commercial use.
  • One limitation: extra editors are paid seats, $20 each, so the cost grows with the team.

Webflow

Webflow is a visual website platform where you control layout and styles in detail. Its AI site builder turns a prompt into a ready-to-edit draft with a design system you can restyle.

  • Who it suits: businesses with a designer, or owners willing to learn, who want precise control and room to grow.
  • What the AI does: it drafts the layout, images and copy from your description; you then shape the structure, colours and type across the site.
  • Price and domain: the Basic site plan is $15 a month billed yearly and includes your own domain. The free Starter plan uses a webflow.io address with 2 static pages.
  • One limitation: Basic is for simple sites without a CMS, so a blog needs Premium, at $25 a month billed yearly.

Briks

Briks is our product. It builds websites, web apps and dashboards from a description: it plans the pages, designs them, writes the words, builds the site, checks it and publishes it, with hosting included.

  • Who it suits: owners who would rather describe their business and approve the result than edit a canvas, such as a consultant, clinic or studio that takes enquiries, sign-ups, payments or memberships.
  • What the AI does: before a first build it asks which pages you want, and three optional stops let you approve the words, pick a look and choose the first screen. Every build is checked for security and colour contrast before it goes live. Later changes are asked for in plain words, in the studio or from Telegram or Discord.
  • After launch: on paid plans you can hire AI agents for each site, 13 kinds today, from a Team lead to a Security agent. Each asks you before it emails anyone, changes your site or posts to your social accounts.
  • Sign-in and payments: visitors can sign up with email and password, and any site can take one-time payments through your own processor, such as Stripe, PayPal, Mollie or Paddle, and sell plans that renew through Stripe, Paddle, Polar or Lemon Squeezy, straight to your account with no fee from Briks.
  • Price and domain: Free gives you 50 credits at sign-up and 1 site on a briks.live address, with no card. Starter is $16 a month, or $160 a year, with 175 credits a month, your own domain and 3 AI agents. A new site holds 50 credits while it builds and is charged for the work it took.
  • Your code: downloadable as a zip on paid plans. On paid plans those files can also be kept in a GitHub repository, in step both ways.
  • Where others do better: Briks has no ready-made store; shipping is built when you ask. It has no plugin marketplace and no free-form design canvas: the Visual Editor on paid plans sets words, pictures and sections, but it is not Framer or Webflow. For a large template library, Wix lists more than 2,000. The Reputation agent is coming soon, newsletters are not offered, and Free's 50 credits come once.

How to choose

  1. What you sell. Goods that ship from a ready-made store: Shopify, or the store plans of Wix and Squarespace. Services, bookings and deposits: Durable, GoDaddy Airo or Wix. Enquiries, sign-ups and one-time payments: any of these, Briks included.
  2. How you want to edit. To move things yourself, pick a drag-and-drop editor (Wix, Squarespace, Hostinger) or a design canvas (Framer, Webflow). To describe and approve, look at Briks, Durable or GoDaddy Airo.
  3. The price over three years, not the first month. Note the term and the renewal price: Hostinger's $2.49 needs a 48-month term and renews at $10.99, and WordPress.com's first yearly price renews higher.
  4. Your own domain and branding. Check which plan connects your domain and removes the builder's branding before you compare prices.
  5. Help after launch. Wix, Durable, WordPress.com and Briks each offer AI help after launch; check what it does on its own and what it asks you first.
  6. Leaving later. Ask what you can take with you: GoDaddy Airo's and Briks's paid plans both let you download your code.

Where to start

If you are unsure, try two: most have a free plan or a trial, so describe the same business to each and compare. For Briks beside one other tool, see Briks vs Wix, Briks vs Squarespace or every comparison, or start Briks free with no card needed.
