# Terms of Service

Last changed 22 October 2026. Questions: [hello@briks.dev](mailto:hello@briks.dev)

These terms are an agreement between you and SEMICOLON WEB TECHNOLOGIES, trading as Briks ("Briks", "we", "us"), about your use of briks.dev, the studio at app.briks.dev, and the hosting of sites built with Briks (together, "the service"). By creating an account or using the service, you accept them.

## Who may use Briks

You must be 18 or older to create an account. If you use Briks for a business or another organisation, you confirm you may accept these terms for it, and "you" includes it.

## The service

Briks plans, designs, builds, checks and publishes websites, web apps and dashboards from what you describe, hosts them, and lets you change them in plain words. Some features are marked as coming soon or are offered only on some plans; we describe what each does on briks.dev.

We improve Briks all the time, so features may change. We will not remove a feature you pay for during your current billing period without telling you first.

## Accounts and workspaces

- Keep your password safe and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account.
- A workspace holds projects and members. Its owners decide who may join and what each member's role allows, and are responsible for what members do in it.
- One person may have up to the number of workspaces the studio allows. Free credits come with a person's first workspace only.

## Credits, plans and payment

- Credits pay for the AI work on your projects: planning, designing, building, changing and checking. A request holds credits while it runs and is charged for the work it took; what it does not use comes back, and a request that fails is not charged. A charge can be more than the credits a request held.
- Free credits are given once, when you sign up. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
- Paid plans, their prices and what each includes are shown on briks.dev/pricing. You buy, change or cancel a plan online from Billing in the studio. Plans set up with you by hand, such as Enterprise, are invoiced as agreed with you.
- Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our online orders.
- We may change prices for future billing periods. We will tell you before a change affects you.
- Refunds follow our Refund Policy at briks.dev/refund-policy. Where the law gives you a right to a refund, nothing in these terms takes it away.

## Your content

Your content is yours: the descriptions you write, your messages, the files, pictures and videos you upload, the brand you set, and your sites' words and records.

You give us the permission we need to provide the service: to store, copy, process and display your content, to send it to the providers who help us run Briks (including AI model providers), and to host and serve your sites to their visitors. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep by law or that sit in backups until they expire.

You confirm you have the rights to what you upload and publish. When you show Briks sites you like, it reads how they are put together to build yours in that spirit; you are responsible for not asking it to copy another's protected work.

If you make a template public, you let other Briks users use and adapt it for their own sites. Their copies are rewritten for their own business before they are published.

## What Briks makes for you

- The words, designs and code Briks writes for your site are yours to use, to the extent we hold any rights in them.
- Your sites also run on parts every Briks site shares. Those parts stay ours: you may use them only to run your sites on Briks, for as long as they run there. The code you download, or keep in a repository you connect, holds your site's own files, not those shared parts.
- If you connect a code repository, such as one on GitHub, Briks commits your site's own files to the branch you choose and publishes what is pushed to that branch after the same checks as any other change. The repository and its history are yours, and Briks leaves them as they are when you disconnect. You are responsible for who can see the repository and push to it, and your use of the repository's host is under that host's own terms.
- Pictures the studio draws for your site may also be used on other sites built with Briks; you may use them on your sites. Pictures and videos you upload are used only on your own sites.
- AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete. Check your site before you publish it and before you rely on it. You are responsible for what you publish.

## Acceptable use

You must not use Briks to:

- break the law, or infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights
- deceive people, for example by impersonating a person or organisation, phishing, or collecting passwords or payment details under false pretences
- publish malware, or attack, probe or overload any system
- send spam through your site's forms or email
- publish content that sexualises minors, promotes violence or hatred, or harasses anyone
- get around the service's limits, credits or security, or copy, resell or reverse-engineer the studio without our written agreement

We may remove content or suspend a site that breaks these rules, and we will tell you why unless the law or the risk prevents it.

## Your sites' visitors

For the personal data your sites collect from their visitors, you are the controller and we process it on your behalf, as our Privacy Policy describes. You are responsible for having a lawful basis for collecting it and for telling your visitors how it is used. The data processing terms below apply to it.

## Data processing terms

This section is the agreement between you, as controller, and us, as processor, that Article 28 of the GDPR and of the UK GDPR requires for the personal data we process for your sites. It applies whenever we process that data, and where it differs from the rest of these terms, it takes priority.

- What we process: data about your sites' visitors, namely their visits as our Privacy Policy describes (the pages, where a visit came from, campaign tags, device, browser and system, an approximate location, and a code made from the visitor's network address and browser that changes every day), and what visitors send through your sites' forms, chat and database.
- Whose data: the people who visit your sites, and the people who send you something through them.
- Why and for how long: to host your sites and show you how they are doing, for as long as you use Briks. Each visit's details are kept for 25 months, then only daily totals; everything else until you delete it or the site ends.

We will:

- process that data only on your documented instructions, which are these terms and the settings you choose in the studio, unless the law requires otherwise, in which case we will tell you first unless the law forbids it
- never use it for our own purposes, sell it, or combine it with other customers' data
- make sure everyone who handles it is bound to keep it confidential
- keep it secure with appropriate technical and organisational measures, as our Privacy Policy describes
- use other processors only under a written contract that protects the data as these terms do; you authorise the kinds of providers our Privacy Policy lists, and we will tell you before adding or replacing one so you can object
- help you answer people who exercise their rights, and help you meet your duties on security, breach notification, impact assessments and consulting the authorities
- tell you without undue delay once we become aware of a personal data breach affecting it
- delete it when your site or account ends, or first return it to you if you ask, unless the law requires us to keep it
- give you the information you need to show these terms are kept, and allow audits by you or an auditor you appoint, on reasonable notice
- move it outside the European Economic Area or the UK only with the safeguards our Privacy Policy describes

We keep a record of the processing we carry out for you, as Article 30(2) requires. For your own record of processing, this entry describes the visit counting: purpose, measuring how your site is used; people concerned, your site's visitors; data, as listed above; recipients, Briks as your processor and the providers it uses; transfers, as our Privacy Policy describes; how long, each visit's details for 25 months, then daily totals; security, as our Privacy Policy describes. For a copy of our record, write to hello@briks.dev.

## Domains

If you connect your own domain, it stays yours. You must control its settings and keep the records the studio shows in place; we issue and renew its certificate while it points at Briks.

## Availability

We work to keep Briks and the sites it hosts running, but we cannot promise they will always be available or free of faults. Features marked as coming soon, beta or test are provided as they are and may change or stop.

## Ending your use

- You can stop using Briks at any time and delete your account from the studio.
- We may suspend or close an account or site that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or is not paid for, and we will tell you why unless the law or the risk prevents it.
- When an account or site ends, its sites go offline. On a paid plan, download your code and export your records before then; we may delete what remains after that.

## Liability

Briks is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we give no promises beyond those in these terms, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you in any twelve months is limited to the greater of what you paid us in those twelve months and one hundred euros.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, or takes away rights you have as a consumer.

If you use Briks for a business, you will cover our reasonable losses from claims caused by your content or by your breach of these terms.

## Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland decide any dispute. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in its courts.

## Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with its date and email you about significant changes before they take effect. If you keep using Briks after that, the new terms apply. These terms were last changed on 22 October 2026.

Questions about these terms go to hello@briks.dev.
