# Website builder for fitness studios and gyms

People choose a gym or studio on what the first class will feel like. Your site has to show the classes, the timetable, the coaches and the price, and get people to try one session. Describe your studio and Briks plans the pages, builds them and publishes the site with hosting included.

Below are templates you can start from, the pages a fitness site usually needs, and a brief you can rework with your own classes.

Start with 50 free credits. No card needed.

## The pages a fitness studio website needs

Most visitors are not members yet, and many are nervous. Tick the pages that fit your studio and the sitemap redraws. Briks asks the same question before it builds.

**Your sitemap** 6 pages

**Home**/

**Classes**/classes **Timetable**/timetable **Prices**/prices **Coaches**/coaches

**Free trial**/trial

Briks asks which pages you want before it builds, with Decide for me if you would rather it chose. What you tick here goes into the example brief below.

## An example brief for a gym website

Change the details to your own and use it as your starting point. The pages line follows what you ticked above.

Forge is a small-group strength and conditioning gym in Cardiff, opened in 2020 by coaches Rhys Morgan and Amara Bello. Classes are capped at ten people: Strength (barbell basics to personal bests), Conditioning (40 minutes, all levels) and Mobility on Sunday mornings.

We are open 6am to 9pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm at weekends. Memberships are £65 a month for unlimited classes, £40 for eight classes, or £12 for a drop-in. Personal training is £45 an hour.

Most new members are 30 to 50 and have never lifted before. The first week is free and starts with a 20-minute chat with a coach.

The site should feel strong but welcoming, not intimidating, with real photographs of members training, a clear timetable, and the free trial form on every page.

**Pages:** Home, Classes, Timetable, Prices, Coaches, Free trial.

Use this brief opens sign-up, then a new project with these words filled in. Change anything before you build.

### Why it is written this way

- Say who your members are. 'Never lifted before' changes every page compared with 'competitive athletes'.
- Give prices and what each includes. People compare studios on price long before they visit.
- Name the first step. 'A free first week that starts with a chat' is an offer people can act on.
- Say where the trial form should appear. Small details like 'on every page' belong in the brief.

## How Briks builds a fitness studio website

Each step is something Briks does today. Follow a link for the details of each feature, including whether it needs a plan or a switch.

1. **Describe your studio**

Write the classes you run, who they suit, your prices and where you are. Briks asks which pages you want before building, and anything your brief left open, such as whether personal training gets its own page.

[Questions before building *On every plan*](https://briks.dev/features/questions-before-building)

2. **Choose the energy**

Switch on Pick a look and compare three looks for your studio, each with colours, type, corners, a button and cards set with your own opening words. Or add a site you like and Briks builds in its spirit.

[Pick a look *Switch it on*](https://briks.dev/features/pick-a-look)

3. **A timetable you can edit**

When your site stores data, such as classes kept as records, it gets its own database. View and edit the records in the Database tab, and on a paid plan download them as JSON or CSV.

[Your own database *On every plan*](https://briks.dev/features/database)

4. **Trial sign-ups in the studio**

Trial and enquiry forms keep every entry in the studio, and once your site is in production each one is emailed to you.

[Forms that keep every entry *On every plan*](https://briks.dev/features/forms)

5. **Replies from the site**

Switch on site email and your site can send under its own name from a briks address, with 300 emails a month on Free and more on paid plans.

[Email from your site *Switch it on*](https://briks.dev/features/site-email)

6. **See what brings people in**

Visitors, pages, sources and UTM tags are counted without cookies, so you can see whether the trial page is read and where visitors came from.

[Analytics without cookies *On every plan*](https://briks.dev/features/analytics)

7. **Test the trial offer**

Test a saved version of the trial page against the live one. A form sent counts as a conversion, once per visitor.

## Advice for a fitness website that fills classes

- **Speak to the nervous beginner**

Most people reading a gym's site are not members yet, and many are nervous. Say who classes are for, what the first session involves and that nobody will be left behind.

- **Keep the timetable honest**

A cancelled class still on the site is a poor first impression. Change it the day it changes: one sentence in the studio chat, or a record edit if your timetable is stored as data.

- **Show real members, with permission**

Photographs of your own members training, with their agreement, are more convincing than stock images of athletes. Ask a few regulars before you start.

- **Put the price where people look**

If memberships start at a number, say it on the home page and in full on the prices page. Visitors who must email to find a price often never do.

## Questions from fitness studios

### Can members book classes and pay on the site?

Members can sign in with email and password, and the site can take one-time payments, such as a drop-in or a class pack, through your own processor. Memberships that renew every month or year go through your own Stripe account, and members manage or cancel them on Stripe's own page.

### Can I change the timetable myself?

Yes. Describe the change in the studio chat and Briks builds and publishes it. If the timetable is stored as records in your site's database, you can also edit it in the Database tab.

### Can the site send emails to new members?

If you switch on site email, your site can send under its own name from a briks address, within your plan's monthly allowance. It is off until you switch it on.

### How do I know whether my trial page works?

Analytics shows visitors, pages and sources without cookies. To compare two versions of the page, run an A/B test, where a form sent counts as a conversion.
