# Made with Briks: show your site in the gallery

Made with Briks is a gallery on briks.dev of sites built with Briks and published by the people who own them. Your site appears there only if you switch it on, and you can take it down at any time. This page covers what is shown, how to list your site and what has to be true for it to appear.

## What the gallery is

The [Made with Briks](https://briks.dev/made-with-briks) gallery shows customer sites, newest in production first, with a filter by category. Each listed site also gets a page of its own in the gallery, with a large picture of its first screen and a link to the site. The same page explains how to get listed and shows the public [templates](https://briks.dev/docs/templates).

It is a good way to be seen by people looking at what Briks can build, and a simple way to show a client their site sitting alongside others. It is entirely your choice: nothing is listed unless its owner switches it on.

## What must be true for your site to appear

- It is published to production. A preview is never shown, and taking a site back to preview takes it off the gallery.
- The **Show this site in Made with Briks** setting is switched on and saved. It is off by default.
- The project is not archived or being deleted.

That is all. There is no approval step for the gallery, and your plan does not matter.

## Switch it on

Where

1. Projects
2. Your project
3. Settings
4. General

1. Find the Made with Briks group

   Where: Settings, General

Open the project, then its **Settings** tab, which opens on **General**. Below **Name and marks** is a group called **Made with Briks**.

2. Switch it on

   Where: Made with Briks

Turn on **Show this site in Made with Briks on briks.dev once it is in production**. Two optional fields appear.

3. Describe it

   Where: Made with Briks

Write a **Short description** of up to 160 characters: what the business is and where, in your own words. The hint under it counts the characters you have used. With 80 or more, search engines can list your site's own page in the gallery; a shorter one stays out of search.

4. Pick a category

   Where: Made with Briks

Choose one under **Category**: Food and drink, Hospitality, Shops, Services, Creative, Health and fitness, Professional and Other. Or leave it on **No category**.

5. Save

   Where: Project settings

Choose **Save** at the foot of **Made with Briks**. Before you save, the line under the fields reads **Save to list it at** and the address. Once saved, it reads **Listed at**, with a link to your listing: briks.dev/made-with-briks followed by the name in your site's briks.live address. If the site is still a preview, the line says: This site is a preview, so it is not shown yet. It appears in the gallery once you publish it to production.

Anyone with edit rights on the project can switch it on: Owners, Admins and Editors. The same people can switch it off. Saving the setting does not rebuild or republish the site, and it uses no credits.

## Before you switch it on

The listing shows your site as it is right now, so a few minutes of checking first is worth it.

1. Look at the first screen of your home page on a wide screen. The gallery's picture is that screen, taken after your latest publish, so it is the first thing people see.
2. Connect your own domain if you have one, and wait until it is working. The listing then links to your address instead of the briks.live one.
3. Check the project name in **Name and marks**. It is the heading of your listing, so `Harbour Physio` reads better than `harbour site v2`.
4. Write the description as you would describe the business to a stranger: what it is, where it is, and one detail that makes it yours.
5. Pick a category. Visitors can filter the gallery by category, and a site with **No category** only shows in the full list.

A listing A physiotherapy clinic in York

> Short description: `Sports and back pain physiotherapy in York, with evening appointments and a free first phone call.` Category: Health and fitness.

The clinic's card appears in the gallery and under the Health and fitness filter. Its own page shows the first screen large, the words with "In its owner's words" under them, the address, Website as the kind, the category, the date it went live and a **Visit the site** button. Under that, a few other listed sites are suggested, starting with ones in the same category.

## What visitors see about your site

| Shown | Where it comes from |
| --- | --- |
| The site's name | The project name in **Name and marks** |
| A picture of its first screen | Taken after the site's latest publish |
| Its address, linked | Your own domain once it is connected and working, otherwise its briks.live address |
| Website, app or dashboard | What the project is |
| The date it went to production | Shown as **Live since** |
| Your description and category | The fields you filled in, if any |

Nothing else is shown: nothing from your studio, your forms, your records or your analytics. If you leave the description empty, the site's page says it is a website built with Briks and published by its owner. Each site's page also carries a short section on how a site like it is made with Briks, and a button to the full gallery.

## The gallery and the Built with Briks badge

The gallery is separate from the small **Built with Briks** badge, a link to Briks in the bottom left corner of your site's pages. The badge sits in **Name and marks**, just above **Made with Briks**, and follows its own rules:

- On the Free plan the badge always shows, and the group says: Your site shows a small Built with Briks badge in a corner. It comes off on a paid plan.
- On a paid plan it is off unless you switch on **Show the Built with Briks badge**.
- Being listed in the gallery never adds the badge, and showing the badge never lists the site.

## Take it down or change it

- Switch the setting off and choose **Save**. The listing goes.
- Taking the site back to preview with **Back to preview** also takes it off the gallery.
- Deleting the project takes it off too.
- To change the words or the category, edit them and save. Renaming the project changes the name on the listing as well.

Tip

Connect your own domain before you switch it on, if you have one. The gallery then links to your address rather than the briks.live one.

### Does it cost anything to be listed?

No, and it does not use credits.

### Is the gallery picture updated when I change my site?

Yes. The picture is the first screen after the site's latest publish.

### Can I list a site that is only a preview?

You can switch the setting on, but nothing is shown until the site is published to production.

### How do I check whether my site is listed right now?

Open the project's **Settings** tab, which opens on **General**. When the setting is on and saved and the site is in production, the Made with Briks group says **Listed at** with a link to your listing, so you can open it and see it as visitors do.

### Can I list a web app or a dashboard, not just a website?

Yes. The listing says which kind it is: Website, App or Dashboard.

### Will my phone number or email be on the listing?

Only if you put them in the description. The listing shows the fields in the table above, and visitors who want more click through to your site.
