# Briks vs v0

v0 is Vercel's AI tool for developers and product teams: prompts become React and Next.js apps and interfaces, deployments go to Vercel with preview links per branch, a two-way GitHub workflow with pull requests and CI comes free, and databases connect through one-click integrations. Briks is built for people who want the finished, hosted business site rather than the codebase: it plans, designs, builds, checks and hosts websites, web apps and dashboards from a brief or from a site you like, and every change is a version. If your team lives in GitHub and Vercel, v0 fits that workflow; if you want a site that is designed, checked and hosted for you, Briks does.

As of 8 October 2026. Products change, so check their site before you decide.

01 Building

## Building: an app in code, or a site from a brief

v0 generates Next.js code you own in GitHub; Briks designs and builds a finished site.

v0 describes itself as a platform for production-ready applications built from natural-language prompts. What it produces is full-stack web apps and user interfaces built on React and Next.js, with database and API integrations, and Design Mode lets you adjust the result visually on every plan.

Briks treats the brief as the starting point of a design job. It asks which pages you want and what is unclear, reads a reference site for layout, spacing, type, motion and header, or shows you three looks to choose from if you switch that on. The result is a published site or app rather than a repository to maintain.

Example: a product team's marketing site

With v0

Prompt v0 for the pages, review the pull request in GitHub, and merge to deploy on Vercel.

With Briks

Write the brief, add two sites the team admires, and Briks builds, checks and publishes the site. Marketers ask for changes in plain words.

02 Hosting

## Hosting: Vercel, or included and never metered in credits

v0 deploys to Vercel; Briks hosts the site itself, with your domain from Starter.

Every v0 plan deploys to Vercel, with preview and production deployments on a vercel.app address, and failed deployments can be repaired with Fix with v0. Custom domains are added from the Publish menu and configured in Vercel; v0's docs do not name a v0 plan for them.

Briks hosts every site on every plan. A first publish goes to a preview at the site's briks.live address, kept out of search, and Publish to production runs a launch check first, including links that go nowhere. Your own domain needs Starter or above, and the certificate is issued and renewed automatically.

03 Changes

## Changes: pull requests or plain words

v0 changes flow through GitHub; Briks changes are versions you can undo.

v0's workflow is built around GitHub: branches, pull requests and CI checks, with automatic fixes for failed builds and CI. That suits a team that reviews code before it ships.

Briks suits a team that reviews the site, not the code. Type a change in the studio chat and it is built and published as a version; undo, redo and restore are open to anyone with edit rights, and a saved version can be A/B tested against the live one. Questions about the site are answered without a build, and the files are still there to read or edit if you want them.

04 After launch

## After launch

v0 has Shopify and Stripe; Briks has payments through your own processor, analytics, a site chat, forms, and agents on paid plans.

v0's Shopify integration creates a development store and builds a storefront from the live catalogue, and Stripe is available through the Vercel Marketplace; the publish flow has a Commerce mode for claiming Stripe sandboxes or Shopify stores. v0 does not advertise agents that run a site after launch.

Briks counts visitors without cookies, offers an optional chat that answers from your published pages, keeps form entries in the studio and emails them in production, and can send email from your site under its own name from a briks address. On paid plans, Briks agents look after the site. Sites take one-time payments and subscriptions through your own processor, with no fee from Briks, and do not connect to Shopify.

05 Pricing

## Pricing

v0 Plus is $30 per user a month; Briks Pro is $29 with no seat fees.

v0's free plan gives 7 messages a day and new users $5 in one-time credits. Plus is $30 per user a month, shown beside a struck-through $90, and includes $30 of monthly credits per user. Credits are US dollars drawn down by tokens at each model's rate. No yearly price is shown.

Briks Starter is $16 a month with 175 credits, and Pro $29 with 400. There are no seat fees: Free and Starter are for one person, and Pro includes 3 people, Studio 10 and Agency 25, with Owner, Admin, Editor and Viewer roles. Free gives 50 credits once. Credits are held per job and charged for the work it took. Paid plans are bought online at checkout, and paying for a year gives 2 months free.

06 Ownership

## Code and ownership

v0 is the developer's choice for code ownership.

v0 has two-way GitHub on the free plan, and its docs say code can be exported to work locally. For a team that wants full control of the code, that is the deciding difference.

Briks gives you the files written for your site to browse and edit, and on a paid plan to download as a zip, but the zip leaves out the shared parts every Briks site runs on, so it does not run on its own. On paid plans those files can also be kept in a GitHub repository, in step both ways. On a paid plan your database records download as JSON or CSV at any time.

## What reviewers raise about v0

These points come from named reviewers, linked and dated, and only where more than one source agreed. They describe some people’s experience, not everyone’s. Some reviewers publish their own tools, and older reviews may predate v0’s current plans.

- Credits run out quickly and are spent on fixing errors v0 introduced; usage is hard to forecast.

**On Briks:** Briks does not charge a request that fails, and returns the credits a job held but did not use.

- Reliability regressions, and projects left in a broken state.

**On Briks:** Every Briks build and change is saved as a version, and anyone with edit rights can restore an earlier one.

### Where v0 is strong

- Native deployment on Vercel, with preview deployments per branch and a stable production address. [Source](https://v0.app/docs/llms.txt)
- A GitHub-backed workflow with branches, pull requests and CI checks, and fixes for failed builds. [Source](https://v0.app/docs/llms.txt)
- A Shopify integration that creates products in a real store and builds the storefront against it. [Source](https://v0.app/docs/llms.txt)

## Who should choose which

An honest split. If the left-hand list describes you better, v0 is the better choice today.

### Choose v0 if

- Your team works in GitHub and wants pull requests and CI on every change.
- You deploy on Vercel already.
- You are building a Shopify storefront and want it built against your real catalogue.
- You want to pick your own database from Neon, Supabase, Upstash or Vercel Blob.

[Visit v0](https://v0.app/)

### Choose Briks if

- You want a finished, hosted business site, not a repository to maintain.
- The people asking for changes are not developers.
- You want contrast checks, versions and A/B tests without setting anything up.
- You want a team plan with no per-user price.

## Moving from v0 to Briks

A v0 project lives in your GitHub and on Vercel. To move the site itself to Briks, build it again from a brief with the deployed v0 site as a reference.

1. **Gather what you want to keep**

Copy the words from your v0 site that you want on the new one, and collect any pictures you own.

2. **Upload your pictures**

Add them to your Briks media library, where any project's prompt box can use them.

3. **Start a new project with a brief**

Describe the business and paste in the words you are keeping. Briks asks which pages you want and anything the brief leaves open.

4. **Add your v0 site as a reference**

Paste its address as your project's reference site. Briks reads its layout, spacing, type, motion and header, and builds a new site in that spirit with your words.

5. **Check the preview**

The first publish goes to a briks.live preview kept out of search. Ask for changes in plain words; each one is a version you can undo.

6. **Publish to production**

A launch check runs first, including links that go nowhere.

7. **Connect your domain on a paid plan**

On Starter or above, add an A record, a CNAME for www and a TXT record. The certificate is issued and renewed automatically. Paid plans are bought online at checkout.

### Good to know

- Shopify storefronts do not come across, because Briks does not connect to Shopify. Stripe checkout and sign-in are set up again on the new site, with your own keys.
- Your GitHub repository is not affected by the move.

## Common questions

### Is Briks a v0 alternative for developers?

Partly. Developers can read and edit a Briks site's own files, and on a paid plan download them and keep them in GitHub, but Briks is designed for people who want the finished site. v0's GitHub workflow is the better fit for teams that ship through pull requests.

### Does Briks include a database, unlike v0?

Yes. Sites that store data get their own database, with records you can view and edit, and download as JSON or CSV on a paid plan. v0 connects databases through one-click integrations instead.

### Which is cheaper for a team?

v0 Plus is $30 per user a month. Briks Pro is $29 a month for the workspace and up to 3 people, and Studio $79 for up to 10, with no seat fees.

### Where are the sites hosted?

v0 deploys to Vercel. Briks hosts the site itself, at a briks.live address first and on your own domain from Starter.

### Can Briks build a Shopify store like v0?

No. Briks does not connect to Shopify. Its sites take one-time payments through your own processor, such as Stripe, and when you ask, Briks builds shipping and stock into the site itself. v0's Shopify integration builds a storefront against a real store.

### Do I need to know code to use either?

Not for Briks: changes are typed in plain words in a chat. v0 takes natural-language prompts too, and its workflow centres on GitHub, branches and pull requests.
